Why mePlain English · Straight answers · Someone in your corner

Plain English.

I'll explain what matters and skip what doesn't. You'll always know what's happening, what it costs and why.

Straight answers.

Fixed prices agreed up front. If something isn't worth your money, I'll tell you.

Someone in your corner.

Years in software and customer support taught me where things go wrong. When something breaks, you text me, not a help desk.

ServicesWebsites, logos & email in Melbourne & Ballarat

One person, the whole job.

No juggling a designer, a hosting company and an IT person. You deal with me from the first chat to launch day, and long after.

I design websites around your business, not a template: fast on every phone, clear about what you do and easy to get in touch through. If you need a brand, I'll make a logo, colours and type that feel like you, and if you're not sure what you like, I'll show you a direction first.

Then I take care of the rest: your Google Business Profile, so local customers find you on Search and Maps, plus your domain, hosting, security, backups and a spam-protected contact form. Want you@yourbusiness.com.au? I'll put Microsoft 365 on your phone and laptop, set up properly so your emails reach inboxes. You never have to log in to anything, and if something looks off, I'll usually spot it first.

How it works

We start with a chat about your business and what the site needs to do, over a video call or email, whatever suits you, and you get a fixed price. I send you a first look, you tell me what you think and I tweak it. Then I build the site, set up your domain, email and Google profile, and we go live once you're happy. After that, I keep it running and I'm a text away when you need a change.

AboutMelbourne-based, Ballarat-raised
Harry Howard, smiling, in a dark t-shirt

Hey, I'm

I've spent my whole career working with technology, in software and customer support. Design is the part I'd do for free.

Support taught me the part most web people skip: what it's like on the other end when something goes wrong, and how to explain it so it makes sense. Now I put all of that to work for small businesses, side projects and people with an idea, from Melbourne to Ballarat, where I grew up, and anywhere else.

I'll make something that looks like you, and explain as little or as much of the technical side as you'd like.

FAQAsk me anything

Good questions.

Who owns my website, domain and email?

You do. Your domain is registered in your business's name and you get every login written down. If you ever want to move on, I'll hand everything over once your account is paid up.

What does it cost after launch?

Hosting is $39 a month, or $390 a year, including your domain renewal. Business email is $18 a mailbox per month. Sites I build come with a 12-month hosting minimum.

How long does it take?

A one-pager is usually live within a couple of weeks, bigger sites a bit longer. The biggest factor is how quickly I get your words and photos. Got a deadline? Tell me up front and I'll say honestly if it's doable.

What do I need to give you?

A bit about your business, any photos you've got and your logo if you have one. Don't stress about the writing. I can help with the words.

I already have a logo. Can you use it?

Absolutely. I'll build the site around it.

I don't really know what I want. Is that a problem?

Not at all, most people don't. I'll ask a few questions, look at others in your space and show you some directions. It's much easier to point at something and say "more like that".

Will people actually find me on Google?

I set up your Google Business Profile and get the search basics right on every page. Nobody can promise the top spot, but you'll be set up to show up for your business name and for searches in your area, and I'll keep an eye on it.

What about security and privacy?

Your site is encrypted, kept up to date and backed up automatically. Contact forms are spam-protected, I only collect what you need to reply, and you get a simple privacy page.

Why not just use Wix or AI myself?

You can, and for some people that's the right call. Making a page is easy now. The trickier part is everything around it: email, spam, domains and Google. If you'd rather spend your time running your business, I'll handle all of that.

Do you only work with Melbourne businesses?

Not at all. I live in Melbourne, but I grew up in Ballarat and I'm back there often, so I love working with regional businesses too. I'm happy to meet for a coffee (or a beer) in either, and everything works just as well over a video call and email, wherever you are in Australia.

Can you fix or take over my existing website?

Often, yes. Send me the link and tell me what's bugging you. I'll tell you straight whether it's worth fixing or better to start fresh.

How do I pay?

Bank transfer or card, whatever's easier.
